As China’s 2027 military readiness target approaches, the time for Russia to make a decision is rapidly narrowing. Each passing day increases economic dependence on China, widens the military power gap, and reduces diplomatic maneuvering space. For Russia to realize this strategic transformation, radical changes are needed in both domestic and foreign policy. As it can be seen, China sees Myanmar as an important hub to overcome many national security challenges and has made significant investments in the country’s infrastructure.
